THE INVITATION
You were just resting on the couch, or finishing up a challenging board meeting, or getting lunch ready for the family or talking with your agent….when there was an unexpected knock at the door.
There was a messenger, dressed in the livery of Louis XIV. He was holding a silver tray on which rested a beautiful small package. He bows and offers you the tray. As you pick up the package he bows and tells you with a delightful French accent that he looks forward to serving you. He bows a third time and is gone.
You sit to examine your package. It is wrapped in a heavy handmade paper that has delicate flowers and pieces of crystal imbedded in it and is tied with a velvet ribbon. Opened, it reveals a delightful mirrored box. Inside the box rests an engraved invitation which reads….
